Founder Blaine McKenzie spent years in the energy and home services industry watching the same pattern repeat. Homeowners were being sold systems they didn't need, quoted prices they couldn't afford, and left with questions no one bothered to answer. The industry had a trust problem, and Blaine felt called to fix it.
Risen Sun was built to be the company Blaine wished existed when his own family needed solar and roofing work — one that leads with education, protects with quality, and treats every home like it's their own. Operating under Smarter Home Connection LLC, the company serves Fresno, Clovis, and the greater Central Valley — plus the Bay Area — with residential solar installation, roofing, and energy storage solutions. Blaine McKenzie is the founder and lead energy expert at Risen Sun Solar & Roofing. A Fresno native, man of faith, and father of six, Blaine built Risen Sun on a conviction that goes deeper than business — that we're called to serve people with integrity, and that starts with how we treat their homes.
With deep expertise in residential solar installation, roofing systems, and energy storage, Blaine personally consults on every project to ensure homeowners get the right solution for their home, their budget, and their goals. He's not behind a desk — he's at your door, on your job site, and in your corner.
When he's not protecting homes, Blaine is leading his creative agency (Revelation Agency), homeschooling his kids with his wife Gabby, and serving at his local church, Ekklesia. The name "Risen Sun" itself reflects what drives him — the sun that powers our panels and exposes the wear on roofs is also a reflection of the Risen Son whose example Blaine strives to follow. Faith, family, and craftsmanship aren't just values to Blaine — they're the foundation everything is built on.
